Ryan Harris ’07 – Ryan has the credentials to add the “Super” to this recipe, after winning Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos!

Ryan Harris played football for the University of Notre Dame from 2003-2006 and was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played for five teams, including the Broncos, Eagles, Texans, Chiefs, and Steelers, and won Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos. Harris currently works for Altitude Sports Radio and Television in Denver. He also is the analyst for the Notre Dame football radio team, is an international speaker, and served as a special guest host for Notre Dame Day 2017. Harris and his wife, Jamie, have three children. Among his charitable work, Harris is involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Wish of a Lifetime, which helps senior citizens eliminate feelings of isolation and have a more purposeful life. He also founded the Education for Elevation Campaign, a program that sent six youths in refugee camps to university.

Super Bowl Chili – Ryan Harris
Equipment
- 1 Large Saucepan or Pot
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef, 85% Lean
- 2 Red Peppers, Diced
- 1 Green Pepper, Diced
- 1/2 White Onion, Diced
- 3 cans Black Beans
- 1 can Garbanzo Beans
- 1 can Diced Tomatoes
- 2 Anaheim Peppers
- 2 Habanero Peppers
- 2 packets Chili Mix
Instructions
- In a large saucepan or pot, heat drizzle of olive oil, then brown the ground beef.
- Once fully browned, add diced peppers, onions, and Anaheim peppers.
- Cook to sweat then stir in beans, tomatoes, and garlic to taste.
- Simmer on low heat for 90 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- For additional spice, halve the Habanero peppers and place the four chunks into the chili, 30 minutes into the simmer.
