It’s Never Too Late

I’m reading the book “Slowing Down to the Speed of Joy,” by Matthew Kelly, and the below quote caught my attention.

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” — Mary Ann Evans

I love this quote because it gently removes the excuses we tend to pile up over time.

Not too late because of age.
Not too late because of past choices.
Not too late because life took a detour you didn’t plan for.

Maybe “what you might have been” looks different now than it once did—and that’s okay. Growth isn’t about becoming the person you imagined at 18. It’s about listening to who you are now and having the courage to take the next small step forward.

Dreams don’t expire. Purpose doesn’t come with a deadline. And reinvention isn’t a sign you failed—it’s a sign you’re still paying attention.

If there’s something tugging at your heart lately—a change you’ve been afraid to make, a passion you’ve put on pause, a version of yourself you miss—consider this your permission slip.

What’s one step you could take this week toward who you’re becoming?

With love, laughter, and a little Irish magic
