Happy Monday, Irish Friends!

After a day of processing the College Football Playoff committee’s decision to leave Notre Dame out, I’ve had a few thoughts settle in.

First, I’m disappointed — deeply. For the players who poured everything into this season. For the coaches who built something special. For the students and for the fans who showed up every single week. It’s hard to see so much work and heart seemingly tossed aside.

Second, it’s clear the playoff system still needs work. The 12 best teams did not get in. If the committee wants to honor conference championships, that’s fine — but get rid of automatic bids. Choose the 12 strongest teams. Period. College football deserves a system that rewards excellence, not just geography or conference politics.

But here’s the truth that hasn’t changed, and never will:

Playoffs or not, I love this team. I’m proud of them. And I’ll stand behind the Irish every single season.

Go Irish. 💚☘️🏈
